CGC finds deficiencies in plans!
On December 22, 2022, the Superior Court of Québec rendered a decision in favour of Entreprises Alfred Boivin (EAB) and its subcontractor Inter-Cité Construction (ICC) in their case against the Régie de gestion des matières résiduelles du Lac-Saint-Jean.
In June 2018, ICC was awarded a subcontract for drilling and blasting work by EAB as part of the expansion of the Héberville Station landfill site. ICC had to carry out additional drilling and blasting work that was not outlined in the original plans submitted.
CGC was therefore mandated by ICC and EAB’s legal counsel to determine whether there were flaws in the original plans and change directives that resulted in the original quote not including the additional work required.
To issue its judgment, the Court relied on Bégin’s report, declaring that while it was technical, it was very useful in helping them understand the dispute.
